How does the Body Jet™ Water-Assisted Liposuction work?
A thin, targeted, fan shape jet, called the Body Jet™ is used to apply a gentle jet of fluid following the infiltration of tumescent solutions for long lasting anesthetization for painless or nearly painless liposuction. This fluid will gently loosen the fat cells with little damage to fat cells and surrounding tissues. Fat deposits are then aspirated in a force free method.
How does Lipotherme™ Laser-Assisted Lipolysis work?
A very small cannula containing a laser fiber is inserted into the skin following a mild numbing agent to the selected body zone. A tiny laser beam is fired creating a thermal effect. Fat cells, which are highly receptive to heat, will be permanently removed and the heat produced will create a skin tightening. Lipotherme™ can be utilized separately for targeting unwanted fat zones or in combination with Body Jet liposuction as recommended by Avanti’s physicians.
Who will be performing my procedures?
Our Avanti physicians, Board Certified Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeons, perform all of our procedures. They have successfully performed thousands of liposuction and body sculpting procedures. Who is a good candidate for the Body Jet™ or Lipotherme™ procedures?
Ideal candidates are in good heath, within 25 lbs of their goal weight, and have zones of fat deposits, which do not respond to exercise or diet. Often an individual gains weight according to a genetically predetermined pattern or post pregnancy fat persists on the hips, abdomen, thighs or buttocks. These procedures are most effective for these individuals.
Who is NOT a good candidate?
Individuals who are diabetic, suffer with heart, kidney, liver, skin or blood disorders are generally not good candidates. Refer to your private physician for approval.
What body regions can be treated?
Abdomen, buttocks, hips, waistline, back, bra line, inner & outer thighs, arms, knees, ankles, face, chin, cheeks, breasts(gynecomastia), mons pubis and any other areas of unwanted fat deposits.
How many treatments will I need?
Typically patients need only one treatment. This is an advancement from traditional liposuction, which often needed follow up procedures.
Will I be awake during the procedure?
Absolutely… and you may be asked to move around. Our procedures are so minimally invasive; there is no need for general anesthesia. This leads to a faster, more comfortable, quicker recovery.
Will I be in pain during or after the procedure?
Patients generally report very little to no discomfort during and post procedure. You may experience minimal bruising and swelling. Some patients have reported feeling mild aches and pains similar to those experienced after a strenuous workout. Compression garments are indicated for most procedures. An over the counter pain reliever or prescription medication may be necessary following your procedure, as directed by Avanti’s physician.
Will I have loose skin after the procedure?
The amazing benefits of Avanti’s combination Body Jet™ /Lipotherme™ technologies are significant. Following the Body Jet™ procedure, Lipotherme™ (laser lipolysis) leads to the formation of new collagen, which promotes skin tightening. The skin appears loose for the first 24 hours but with the body’s own natural healing mechanisms, the skin returns to its natural form. Over the next 4 to 8 weeks, the skin retracts and becomes tighter and toned.
Will I have scars after my procedure?
The tiny incisions are placed as inconspicuously as possible. There are no stitches and usually no visible scarring. The initial incision marks fade away in time for most patients.
Can I drive myself home?
Arranging for transportation to and from the procedure is necessary.
When can I return to normal activities?
Generally our physicians will recommend 1-2 days rest (dependent on the physical aspects of your job) and in smaller procedures no downtime is necessary.
When can I begin to exercise?
It is recommended that patients return to approx 25% of their regular exercise routine a week after their procedure and increase intensity and duration over time. The main thing is to listen to your body and exercise recommendations as directed by our physicians.
When can I expect to see results?
Results can be seen immediately with continued improvements over the following few months.
Are my results permanent with the Body Jet™ and the Lipotherme™ technologies?
Yes! The fat cells removed will not return. If an individual gains weight, the fat is distributed to other fat cells. Avanti’s combination liposuction and body sculpting delivers permanent, superior results.
